Carl Cavanagh, 45, BMX lifer and Engineer based in Tauranga, NZ.

BMX lifer, maker and doer of stuff. 45 years old and living in Tauranga NZ. Married to my amazing wife Anj and we have 4 kids.

I still get out on the bike or shovel at least once a week. I have a small crew that maintains and rides a local trail spot. I definitely dig more than I ride.

I’m Qualified fitter/welder with over 10 years’ experience in residential and industrial steel fabrication, plus heavy transport. Later completed a Bachelor of Engineering with first-class honors, graduating top of my class.

I design and make bike parts from my small machine shop. Custom sprockets, stems, Titanium frames and inventor of the HU Brake and FSEB.
